the "be here now" experiment
today is a great day to practice mindfulness.

Or so I am told. I’m feeling super-scattered and un-centered and lots of other hyphenated negatives. But the great teachers tell us that today - like any other day - is a great day to practice mindfulness. It’s a great day to be here now with whatever emotions or experiences we’re having.

So I spent a few minutes listening to this loving-kindness meditation by Sharon Salzberg (otherwise known as “metta” meditation), which actually did calm me for a few moments. I’ll probably listen to it again a few more times today; just like rebooting a computer, I’ll keep rebooting my spirit.
