the "be here now" experiment
Jocelyn is joining the Be Here Now experiment. Here’s her experience, generously shared (and an excellent reminder to pace ourselves and take things one moment at a time):
I’ve been doing what I never thought was possible (or advisable). After being too ashamed of my medication-induced weight gain to go back to wheelchair racing, a friend invited me to “run” with her as she trained for a half-marathon. We ran 11.5 miles together on the weekend (!!) and I was hooked.
I set out today to try a “run” on my own and really enjoyed it. But what was a BHN moment for me was this hill, picture attached. I live in a hilly area, and the hills had always made me reluctant to abandon my car in favour of public transit. But this evening, I  mounted a large hill, pushing near the edge of my capacity - and saw another, even bigger hill, rising up behind it. I stopped, assessed, took a picture, and decided that hill was for another day. My run would not be spoiled - I chose another route, and marked this hill for a future challenge.
