the "be here now" experiment
Today, day two of the Be Here Now challenge, started off a little rocky. I woke up with my head spinning from all the tasks and projects I need to complete today. So I decided to focus my energy on one thing for just a few moments, and it turned out to be my breakfast shake. It’s looking a little green today - I think I added too much spinach. (Yup! It has almost no taste, and it gives me tons of nutrients.)
I took a moment to be thankful for the fresh food I’m able to eat; for the blender my pals Michelle and Adam gave me, which crushes ice like a champ; for the cute plastic cup I bought at Target that’s just the right size; for the bubble tea straws I love so much (and can be bought so cheaply at the Asian grocery down the way). As I drank my shake, I thought about how the food affects my body, how it gives me energy to tackle challenges in the morning, and how tasty it was.
Then it was gone and time to shower, dress, and dash to the office. But for a moment, the breakfast shake and I were together, alone. I was one with the shake. Whoa.
